Maple Latte

Ingredients

  • 2 shots (2 oz / 60 ml) espresso, freshly brewed
  • 1 cup (240 ml) whole milk (or oat, almond, or soy milk)
  • 1–2 tbsp pure maple syrup, to taste
  • ½ tsp pure vanilla extract
  • Pinch of ground cinnamon

Optional Toppings

  • Whipped cream
  • Extra cinnamon or a drizzle of maple syrup

Before you get started

For the best flavor, use 100% pure maple syrup and freshly brewed espresso. If you don’t have an espresso machine, strong brewed coffee works as a great substitute. Frothing the milk creates a rich, café-style texture, but the latte will still be delicious without it.

Instructions

  1. Brew two shots of espresso and pour them into your favorite mug.
  2. Stir in the maple syrup and vanilla extract until fully dissolved.
  3. Heat the milk in a small saucepan or microwave until steaming, but do not let it boil.
  4. Froth the milk using a milk frother, French press, or whisk until light and creamy.
  5. Slowly pour the steamed milk into the espresso, holding back the foam with a spoon. Finish by spooning the foam on top.
  6. Sprinkle with a pinch of cinnamon and, if desired, top with whipped cream and an extra drizzle of maple syrup.
  7. Serve immediately while hot.

Tips

  • Use dark or amber maple syrup for a richer maple flavor.
  • For an iced version, let the espresso cool slightly, pour over ice, and top with cold frothed milk.
  • Add a pinch of nutmeg or pumpkin pie spice during the fall for a seasonal twist.
  • A sprinkle of flaky sea salt creates a delicious salted maple latte.
