Maple Dijon Dressing

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup extra-virgin olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons pure maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 small garlic clove, finely minced
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ⅛ teaspoon ground black pepper

Before you get started

Use pure maple syrup for the best flavour and a good-quality olive oil for a smooth, balanced dressing.

Finely mince the garlic so it blends evenly into the mixture. You can also prepare the dressing directly in a small Mason jar with a tight-fitting lid.

Allow the ingredients to reach room temperature before mixing, especially when the maple syrup has been refrigerated.

  • Add the maple syrup, apple cider vinegar and Dijon mustard to a small bowl or Mason jar.
  • Add the minced garlic, salt and ground black pepper.
  • Whisk the ingredients together until well combined.
  • Slowly pour in the olive oil while continuing to whisk.
  • Keep whisking until the dressing becomes smooth and slightly creamy.
  • Taste the dressing and adjust the seasoning as needed.
  • Serve immediately over your favourite salad or refrigerate it in a sealed container.
  • Shake or stir the dressing well before each use.
